1. Phil Standen
Phil Standen usually runs Acorn Lodge B&B - as well as fronting Accomodation Harrogate, the guest house association - all of which have been closed during lockdown.
But Phil has continued to work throughout the crisis, turning his attention to those who need it most. He has joined Dignicare and is now offering home care to vulnerable people across the district, working long hours to support those in need.
2. Chris Parkhouse
Chris Parkhouse is the headteacher at Grove Road Community Primary School and despite the school being closed to most pupils other than children of key workers, he has been working to put things in place so that all children can continue to learn.
He has been creating Youtube videos to keep them entertained and managing staff so all pupils are catered for.
3. Jo Banks
Jo Banks is a practice nurse in Harrogate, caring for patients who need help during the coronavirus pandemic. Although routine appointments are currently on hold, Jo is still working to ensure the most vulnerable patients are safe and well looked after during this difficult period.
Despite the struggles, Jo says it is a privilege to be a nurse and help in any way she can.
4. Fran Patrick
Fran Patrick is a Rooms Division Manager at the White Hart Hotel.
Although the hotel is currently closed to guests during the lockdown, it has opened its doors to staff working on the new Nightingale hospital.
The hotels restaurant, the Fat Badger, is also offering takeaways - and Fran has been working non-stop to help with these projects, even doing laundry for those at the hotel.
