Mari relives the glory days of soul
Published Date:

MARI Wilson first arrived on the music scene in the early 1980s with her skyscraper beehive hairdo and fully choreographed 12-piece band The Wilsations.
Her live shows were spoken about as an event and pure entertainment. Once again, she's back on the road with her band and, for one night only in Harrogate, will turn the clock back to the glory days of soul.
She will play all the hits, including Just What I've Always Wanted, Cry Me A River and, her more recent recording, Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps, which is the theme tune to the hit comedy, 'Coupling.'
Mari's retro sense of glamour and style and big hair has made a comeback not only in the fashion world but with singers like Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, and the movie, Hairspray.
Mari will also be performing material from artists such as Dusty Springfield and Judy Garland.
You can see her in concert at Harrogate Theatre on Wednesday, October 22 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £12-£16 with concessions available and can be booked through the theatre box office on 01423 502116.
